History & Establishment

• Gopabai Damani Blood Bank was established with the great help of Shri. B. R. Damani and Shri. P.R.Damani and inaugurated by the Mumbai Governor Mr. Shri Prakash in 1958
• The initial fund for the infrastructure given by Mrs. Gopabai Damani was Rs.18000/-, Dist. Branch. Solapur 12,500/- , State Branch Rs.5000/-, and Solapur Municipal Corporation gave Rs. 2000/-
• Damani group make an agreement with Red Cross and introduced the committee for this blood bank. District collector is the chair person of this committee.

Current Activities

• Blood Bank
• Thalassemia Transfusion Department( This facility is available only in Mumbai and Solapur )
• Conducting Blood Donation camps in city as well as district

Future Planning

• Blood bank is shifting in new building beside of current location
• Planning for new Disaster management ( Red Cross will going to plan ASAP)
